Sven Manseau is a blue belt at 10th Planet Van Nuys. He started training and competing in martial arts at 9 years old, and that’s when the addiction began. He’s been addicted to any type of physical activity, martial arts, and competition ever since. He started out with Kenpo Karate, where he began assisting instruction as a 13 year old brown belt. He did this until he was 15 years old, and that was when kickboxing took over his focus. When he was 12, he started American Kickboxing. He moved throughout cities within Arizona at the age of 16, and at that time, he began training Muay Thai. He really elevated his training of physical activity and began more serious hand to hand combat techniques when he joined the military, as a Military Police Officer at 17. During his time in, he really got into physical fitness, aerobic training, and resistance training, as he noticed it only accelerated his abilities with martial arts and combat.
He got into it so much that soon enough, he wanted to learn everything about it, so at the end of his contract, he began school and obtained a B.S. in Kinesiology, which is the study of human movement and performance. He also obtained the top physical training certification, NSCA’s CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist). He has worked in many fields of health, fitness, nutrition, and exercise, working for Cal State Northridge, LA Fitness as a Master Trainer, and now he is the Health Fitness Therapist at Centre for Neuro Skills, a rehabilitation facility for TBI victims. He has been training at 10th Planet Van Nuys for a little over 3 years now, he has taught strength and conditioning classes as well as being one of the fundamental coaches. He has competed in kickboxing fights, Jiu Jitsu, MMA, and grappling tournaments, and will continue to train and compete in martial arts for as long as he is physically able, as it was, is, and will continue to be his passion.
